Who is God? Who are we? What is the purpose of human life? What is the purpose of the universe, for that matter? These are a few of the seemingly paradoxical questions which have plagued my mind for several years. (Please realize that I am not lying when I say only several, for I am now sixteen years of age.) After much intense deliberation and "research," I have come to what I believe to be a valid and logical conclusion. I by no means claim that this meager philosophy of mine is THE ONLY ANSWER to the many questions which inevitably arise during every person's life. I am merely expressing my current beliefs, and I must stress the word current, for I truly doubt that they will all withstand my constant skepticism in their entirety throughout the rest of my life. Nonetheless, I feel somehow inclined to share my outlooks with anyone who will listen. I hope that, if nothing else, my words will serve to open the minds of those who choose to read further. Of course, no act is completely unselfish; I also hope to receive further enlightenment through the email messages which I ask you to send in response. =-)
In my eyes, God is in everyone and everything in the universe. He (not that I view God as a gender-specific being, but God is traditionally referred to as a male) is the life force, the creator, and the love of the universe. We are all God, and everything we see, hear, taste, smell, or feel is God. He is all around us, and He is within us. As our love for God's creations increases, we become closer to Him, blissfully following our ultimate idol. God is the apotheosis of absolute love and forgiveness; He is the epitome of perfection. As it is said in the Bible, humans exist in the image of God. Thus, every person is actually flawless deep down inside. Perhaps our purpose here is to overcome our weaknesses, flourishing through our distinct personalities which are so often mistaken for imperfections. Perhaps our ultimate task is to love one another, our environment, and ourselves, and to truly realize that we are as great and as beautiful as God himself. All that we must do is access our limitless potential which lies deep within our souls, reflecting and existing as one with the presence of God. I also believe that, if extraterrestrial beings are real, they too face this identical task, many of them unwilling or as of yet unable to face such an incredible truth. As for the rest of the universe, such as the inanimate objects and the primitive animals, I believe that they also play an important role in the joint venture of the children of God. Perhaps these seemingly insignificant aspects of the universe were once sentient, but after achieving nirvana, or enlightenment, they have been given the opportunity to return to Earth to further aid God in His perplexing plan.
Please remember that many of these ideas are not entirely my own. This "theory" of mine consists of those philosophical beliefs of various thinkers throughout history with which I agree, as well as a few modifications of my own.
